Peter Mahon, Director
Educated at the University of Toronto, Peter Mahon has a dual career in music both as a conductor and as a singer. As a conductor, he has worked with several choirs over the last two decades, including St. James Cathedral, Tafelmusik, the Hart House Singers and Grace Church on-the-Hill as well as being the founder and director of the William Byrd Singers, a professional chamber choir of 16 voices, specializing in liturgical music of the Renaissance, but including repertoire spanning ten centuries. In his singing career, he is a countertenor, specializing in baroque and renaissance repertoire and over the last 25 years has appeared with many ensembles such as Tafelmusik, Toronto Consort, Aradia Ensemble, The Montreal Chamber Music Festival, Pax Christi Chorale, Arbor Oak Concerts, The Bach-Elgar Choir, The Tallis Choir, The Toronto Chamber Choir and The St. James Cathedral Choral Society.
